The Project
While the HWC exists primarily to promote public appreciation of Scotch Malt Whisky, as a group of conscientious ladies and gentlemen, we are committed to doing our part to have a positive impact on the communities we live in. To this end, we hosted a special Charity Auction this October 27th, 2012, with all the proceeds going to the Chunhae orphanage in Pyongtaek, Korea and the Club Kiva program, and we were able to raise $1,053.00!!! Thanks for joining us as we tasted some rare whiskeys in order to do our part to contribute to our community.

Items Auctioned
A once only blend from Ralfy Mitchell's own shelf. With this bottle was a thumbdrive on which is a vlog of Ralfy creating this blend especially for the HWC. A real treat for any whisky enthusiast. A big thank you to Ralfy Mitchell and Ralfy.com
We were also given a bottle from Serge Valentin of Whiskyfun.com; His own private blend. Malts from the 60s, 70s and even the 1920s! This promises a whisky education money simply can't buy. The label has the WhiskyFun logo on it and is hand-singed by Serge Valentin. I envy whoever gets their mitts on this baby. Thanks again to Serge of whisky fun.com!
Our Distributor, Whiskybase.com contributed one of their own independent bottlings, an Archives Glen Garioch 1990. This baby is single cask, cask strength, nonchillfiltered, and natural color, and its an amazing dram! Its a big, rewarding beefy malt that will satisfy those looking for an authentic, no-nonsense, unapologetic whisky experience. Retail price: $98.00 (shipping to ROK included). Thank you for your generous donation to our friends at Whiskybase.com!
Donated by Chap Godbey, this rare and admired premium bourbon is touted as, “Well crafted…elegant, stately...balanced beautifully” by Paul Pacult’s Spirit Journal. The Van Winlke 12 Special Reserve is rated 98 by the Beverage Tasting Institute and retails for $89.99 in the states. A big thank you to Chap Godbey for this exciting contribution from back home. Chap also donated a tempting bottle of Hardy's Ale, 2004.
~Additionally there was a: "SECRET MYSTERY DRAM." A Chieftain's Bottling of a 28 year old Glenrothes, matured in a port pipe.

~Ashley Ritter, of K-6 Cakes donated a couple of $25 gift certificates for her amazing cakes to the auction. Its the perfect thing for a birthday, anniversary, graduation or other celebration. You won't want to miss out on the opportunity to get your hands on one of these. Maybe she will make it a whisky cake if you ask nicely! Thank your or your kind support Ashley!
