2013 Halloween
Charity Costume Party
Whisky Tasting & Auction
The Charity Auction has concluded with great success thanks to our generous members!
As is now tradition, the HWC hosted a special Charity fundraiser to benefit those in need; we always first try to emphasize our impact on the local community, yet recent closures to local orphanages like ours from last year might change who receives the offering. The bottles that we sampled and auctioned off were selected by none other than the famous Serge Valentin of WhiskyFun.com himself! All monies collected will go to either a local cause in or around Peyongtaek area, or a comparable National Charity with stellar marks from the American Institute of Philanthropy. Please feel free to review our charity auction slide show below and see the extent of our evenings whisky adventure.

Typhoon Haiyan (known as Yolanda in the
Philippines) crossed the Philippines with devastating violence, leaving behind
untold destruction and an initial estimate of 1,200 deaths that early evidence
suggests may exceed 10,000.
Access to food and clean water remains a huge challenge to the most at risk people who live in devastated areas after Typhoon Haiyan, with more than 20% of Filipino children under age five regularly experiencing malnutrition.
This emergency disaster in our regional area caused the Humphrey’s Whisky Club members present at the November 2013 “Peat-Bombs” meeting to vote unanimously to put our charity monies towards this important cause at a crucial time for the disaster victims.
We will still maintain a relationship with our local national hosts, and will revisit charity donations for our local orphanages. There are so many worthy causes and so little money to go around.
The Humphrey’s Whisky Club would once again like thank all of our members, and contributors who have made this needed relief for the Pilipino people possible. Thank You
